“I was lost”
I came to The Cottage a lost soul, I couldn't live life the way I wanted and I was fully stuck in addiction.
The Cottage changed my life dramatically, I now have the connection with my daughter that I always wanted and my family are there, they always were but I was lost. I was only going to stay for a short time but as time went on I ended up staying for the whole 16 weeks.

“I packed a bag”
The angel I call my wife never rested until she found a solution, she made contact with 'The Cottage' which although in it's infancy, sounded promising. Without hesitation I packed a bag and went to Shepparton to embrace my new way of being. The Staff were Kind and approachable and made me feel at home and part of something larger than myself. Each of them, former addicts themselves, stressed the importance of the 12 step program and connection to the 12 step Community. All of which I attribute to the saving of my life. Having completed the program I moved my family to Shepparton to further embrace a very robust community of recovery peers. I still have a great deal of contact with the Cottage Staff and residents. I am now considered to be a leader at The Cottage. I Sponsor other residents in their programs.
I am a much more caring, connected, and humbled human being for this experience. My family and I are greatful for the opportunity that has given me back my life.
